En las últimas horas se ha viralizado un video en el que se observa el accionar de un grupo de ciudadanos que chocaron a otro vehículo, aparentemente sin razón.
A través de su cuenta de TikTok, la usuaria Asphia Natasha subió un video de la cámara de seguridad de su vehículo del pasado 16 de octubre cuando se movilizaba por Belt Parkway en Queens en la que aparentemente frustraba un intento de estafa de seguro.
En el video se observa cómo un vehículo modelo Honda Accord plateado se coloca al frente de su automotor y empieza a frenar bruscamente. Inicialmente se evita el contacto, pero el auto liviano empieza a retroceder abruptamente.

Inicialmente Natasha pensó que se trataba de un accidente y preguntó si los integrantes del otro vehículo se encontraban bien. Las otras personas que se encontraban en el interior del automotor comenzaron a tomar fotografías de los daños.
Luego, tras el hecho, la mujer observó el video y se percató que desde el otro vehículo pusieron un objeto para obstaculizar la vista del asiento trasero y aprovechar para cambiar de posición al conductor. Luego simulan haber sido afectados y se toman varias partes del cuerpo.
“Lo traté como si hubiera sido un accidente. Les pregunté si estaban bien. Pudimos intercambiar información. El hombre del video me dijo que la mujer era la conductora y que no hablaba inglés”, contó.

Los del automóvil emprendieron la huída tras el hecho y no esperaron a los policías debido a que tenían que ir a buscar a un bebé, supuestamente.

The silver Honda (LBB 8917) was in the middle lane, and they cut me off and slammed on the brakes coming to a full stop hoping I would hit them. I did not hit their car and because of that they reversed into my car for collision and acted as if they were injured while coming out of their vehicle. I believe the intention was to say I hit their car for insurance fraud purposes. They had a tarp covering the rear windshield which fell off once they hit my car. You can see the driver is a male wearing a hat and you can see him switching to the passenger seat as well as the movement of the car before anyone gets out. The first three passengers exit the car pretending to be hurt, while the fourth passenger who was driving slips out through the passenger seat and gets into a second vehicle. That second vehicle was a red KIA SUV (KJH 3340) which was following me from behind and keeping distance so they wouldn't slam into me. The red KIA drove around and picked up the driver to get away. The remaining three people’s demeanor changed once one of them noticed the dashcam. They only came out of the car with their phones ready to record the damage to both cars. They were quick to ask for my insurance and quickly left after the exchange. I called the police at the time of the incident and reported it as an accident, and the police told me they no longer go to an accident if no one is injured and they are willing to exchange information. En el video de la cámara posterior del vehículo de Natasha se ve cómo otro vehículo rojo se detuvo detrás de su vehículo y la pasó. Según contó la afectada uno de los pasajeros del vehículo Honda se subió al automotor.

De acuerdo al periodista Alcibiades Onofre, los pasajeros del vehículo gris serían de Ecuador, específicamente de la provincia del Azuay.
Las autoridades indicaron que se en vías urbanas se dan siniestros de tránsito fraudulentos por un mayor volumen de vehículos. (I)
