In reference to incident against the Farc, the President had hard words last night.
Ecuador expelled the colombian ambassador yesterday and ordered troop mobilization to the colombian border on the heels of the military excursion which took the life of the Farc number two man, Raúl Reyes, as anounced by President Rafael Correa.
"I have decided on the inmediate expulsion of Colombia's ambassador in Ecuador (Carlos Holguín), and i have also requested the inmediate reunion of the OEA and CAN permanent council" said Correa adressing the nation.
"I have ordered troop mobilization to the northern borderline and i have urgently convened a security council meeting for tomorrow" he furthermore pointed out.
Correa, who had earlier recalled his ambassador in Bogotá, Francisco Suéscum said he took the decision "in view of the seriousness of events and once the colombian reply to his" emphatical protest turned out to be a mockery once again, of the truth and the Ecuadorian people".
Ambassador Suéscum, on arriving in Quito, labeled the Colombian military attack on ecuadorian soil as an "act of war". "Massacre is a barbaric fact, a fact of war, a fact against peace, life and human rights".
Almost at the same time, Colombia offered apologies to Ecuador for the helicopter incursion to its territory but said it was "indispensable to search the site from where they were fired upon".
"This time a diplomatic apology from Bogotá will not suffice. We demand firm and formal committments before the international community that will guarantee these unacceptable deeds will not be repeated", declared Correa.
In that line, he spoke to other Presidents from Argetina, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Spain, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay and Venezuela during the day, besides the OAS secretary and andean community of nations.
"I have shared with them the seriousness of the situation and planned a joint proposal with the intention of stopping this type of behavior and thereby halting the possibility of a wider, international spread of the colombian conflict," he added.
Ecuador hardened, as never before, its position before Bogotá after what it termed "a deliberate agression against its teritory" by soldiers who invaded on saturday and killed 20 guerrillas, according to Correa, including Raúl Reyes, Farc´s second in Command.
In the beginning Quito estimated the death toll at 17, 15 of which, the bodies were found by the ecuadorian army, while Colombia admitted their men had taken Reyes' body and that of one of his subordinates.
"Undoubtedly it has been confirmed that Ecuador suffered a well-planned air strike and a subsequent colombian troop incursion fully conscions they were trespassing on our sovereignty", he insisted.
Acussation
Colombia´s government accussed president Correa of committments with the Farc, the police director will disclose documents found on Reyes body "where it is clear that president Correa has a relationship and committments with the Farc", said presidential spokesman César Velásquez.
According to this person "among belongings found on Reyes there are three computers" in one of which the aforementioned document was found. Evidence will be analyzed as a whole with United States authorities.
